Interpack 2011 – A packaging machinery event at its best!

Every three years Interpack comes along and as prepared as you think you are chaos ensues! Shows of this magnitude always present a few minor issues with suppliers and last minute amendments but I must say the end result was worth the effort and everyone involved did a great job. The exhibition stand looked fantastic and from the minute the doors opened the halls were a flood with visitors to the exhibition looking for innovative packaging machinery, new processing solutions and novel product developments.

Once again, ITCM exhibited alongside sister company Langen Packaging Group and this year we were also joined by another part of the Molins plc group, Cerulean.ITCM Stand

ITCM is a world leader in custom machinery solutions for processing and packaging and Interpack gave us the chance to reiterate how we add value across a range of market sectors. We don’t show machinery or technology that we have developed for our customers at exhibitions as each solution is individually created specifically for a particular product and customer. For Interpack 2011 we decided to take along two labscale machines for clinical trials (PILOTLAB Blister sealer and Powder Micro-doser) to help display expertise in technology and new product development.

The stand was packed with machinery; in addition to the labscale machines displayed by ITCM, both end load and top load cartoners were presented on stand by Langen Packaging Group and Cerulean brought their newly launched machine for quality testing of tubes (Q-Test), all of which received much interest.

Off stand, Simon Strothers, Business Development Director at ITCM gave a presentation on the Rockwell Automation stand about ITCM and how you can lead your market through custom machinery solutions which was well received. Many other activities occurred across the expanse of the Messe Dusseldorf over the week long exhibition and the final closing statement revealed that all 19 halls were fully booked, housing 2,700 exhibitors and a massive 166,000 trade visitors, underlining that Interpack really is regarded as an important trade fair in this sector.

The scale of this event never ceases to amaze me (and the amount your feet ache after just a couple of days at Interpack!) but it’s all worth it to be part of such a great event.
